This presentation will review the regional differences in defining sporicides, as well as regulatory expectation of material transfer, consideration for selecting a sporicidal agent, and new innovation in material transfer.
Event Details
Material transfer is a critical part of a robust contamination control strategy. Traditionally, alcohols have been used for this purpose as they have good bactericidal and fungicidal activity, do not leave surface residues, are fast drying and have shortened contact times. However, regulatory bodies have moved towards incorporating a sporicidal agent into the material transfer process. Many sporicides are associated with operational hazards, material incompatibility, long drying times, and extended contact times. Therefore, the agent to be used should be carefully selected. This presentation will review the regional differences in defining sporicides, as well as regulatory expectation of material transfer, consideration for selecting a sporicidal agent, and new innovation in material transfer.
