How Do Virtual Visits Work?

HoloLens headset or a mobile device with Remote Assist

Depending on your needs, Ecolab will bring in a HoloLens 2 headset or a mobile device with Dynamics 365 Remote Assist. The HoloLens 2 is a self-contained, hands-free computer equipped with cameras, speakers, microphone and Wi-Fi connectivity. When worn by an Ecolab associate at your facility, they can connect and communicate virtually in real time with remote individuals or teams of technical experts, engineers, and scientists, all while showing the situation through their eyes. Whatever the wearer looks at, the connected individual or group can also see. The HoloLens 2 is a powerful asset with the ability to immerse the wearer in the world of your facility.

HoloLens Remote Assist application

The HoloLens 2 delivers a virtual reality as well as augmented reality experience. So technical documents, images, video, etc. can be projected on the lens of the device that the wearer can see alongside their real-world visual space. Additionally, the team viewing the HoloLens 2 output can annotate (e.g. draw, circle, point to) elements within the space the wearer is looking at for enhanced direction and communication.

Regardless of device used, the Remote Assist application enables powerful real-time collaboration through team meetings, annotation capabilities, augmented reality, and more.
