Butadiene is commonly recovered from mixed C4 streams using solvent extraction. Butadiene is a monomer prone to polymerization, and the most common limitation during butadiene production is the formation of polybutadiene through unwanted polymerization. Tars consisting of solvent degradation products, and often antifoams, also contribute to fouling. Vapor spaces with high butadiene concentrations are also vulnerable to popcorn polymer fouling.
The Nalco Champion solution offers:
- A comprehensive treatment program for extraction section fouling control
- An effective popcorn polymer control program
- A Mechanical, Operational, and Chemical (MOC) approach to problem solving
In addition to our chemical program, we provide extensive performance monitoring, sample analysis and Best Practice Gas Analysis (BPGA).
